Hiatus OVER!

Hello to all my faithful readers! Thanks for sticking with me so far - and while I took some time away. I've been so very busy these past few months, and now I'm ready to jump back into the blogging pool! It will be a little "slowly but surely" for a little bit longer, while I get the ball rolling again on reviews, blog tours, etc.

A quick update on my life:
I'm a manager now! That's right, me - a manager of a library branch. Woohoo!

I'm now a reviewer for School Library Journal AND Kirkus Media - on top of my review work for different authors, publishers, publicists, and more.

In my hiatus from here, I tried out a few things here and there.. which has lead me to open up a small side business doing some freelance work. I offer services for editing, proofreading, and also resume refreshers. I'm skilled in all three, so I figured I might as well put those skills to use! Send me an email if you're interested.

Apologies: An unplanned hiatus

Just wanted to put out a little note to say how sorry I am for disappearing on everyone!

Unfortunately I got knocked down with one heck of a virus, and not only did it take me a couple weeks to get over that, but then another several weeks just to get any sort of energy back. I'm just now to the point where I feel like I can really sit up and pay attention again.

For those of you waiting on email responses or reviews, I promise I will get to them, and I'm so sorry it has taken me this long.

Thank you for your patience and continued support! I love reading, reviewing, and sharing my thoughts with all of you. The blogging community is a wonderful space and I'm happy to still be a part of it.

I'll be back soon with some new content!

I'm back! Mostly!

Hey all! As you could see (hopefully) from my review yesterday, I am mostly back in action! I have a new laptop, so I should be able to post reviews as normal once again.

Windows 10 is definitely different than my old Windows 7 laptop, which I will miss wholeheartedly. I did a lot of work on that old thing - it got me through my Master's degree! And that 50+ page thesis. Good times, good times..

I'm still adjusting to this new device. Every time I try to scroll on a page, it automatically adjusts the zoom, which is pretty annoying. And as of right now, it won't let me upload pictures to the blog, though I'm hoping that's just an internet issue. Hence why this is a boring old text post.

Which is a whole other problem - new computer is working fine, but very very slow. I'm hoping that's just because of how bad the internet has been acting lately. I used to be able to watch Netflix, have my phone on, and be browsing the internet on my tablet or laptop and everything would be super fast. I'm currently down to one (maybe two, if I stretch it) device connecting at a time. Fingers crossed it's just the crappy weather.

Guess who's back, finally!

I know, it's been ages! But I promised I would be back, and here I am. =) A lot of stuff happened at home, hence my need for a hiatus, but I'll be back pretty regularly now.

Reasons why I left for a while:
My Grandfather had to have his gallbladder removed.
My Dad had surgery.
I got promoted to full time (yay!).
I just.. needed a break, I guess.

I think it got to the point where all the reading and reviewing felt more like a job than a joy. I love books, I love discovering new authors, books, and series... I thought it was better to stop for a bit, relax, and then come back with a fresh new outlook. Well I have it!

Again, for all the authors that sent me their books, I *WILL* review them, just give me some more time to get back into the swing of things. I'm currently working through some books I need to read for work - like "Queen of Kings" by Maria Dahvana Headly for the next Positively Paranormal book club! - and my RRT books, but I'm hoping to come up with a proper reading schedule, so I can do everything at once. Plus.. you know, throw in some pleasure reading books at some point!

Some exciting news (at least for me!)... My new job means I get to process all the best seller books that come into my branch of the library. I can't help but drool over these books, that I get to handle and process.. all before their release date! I'm just a big nerd, huh?
