ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Tessa Bailey is originally from Carlsbad, California. The day after high school graduation, she packed her yearbook, ripped jeans, and laptop, and drove cross-country to New York City in under four days. Her most valuable life experiences were learned thereafter while waitressing at K-Dees, a Manhattan pub owned by her uncle. Inside those four walls, she met her husband, best friend, and discovered the magic of classic rock, managing to put herself through Kingsborough Community College and the English program at Pace University at the same time. Several stunted attempts to enter the work force as a journalist followed, but romance writing continued to demand her attention.

She now lives in Long Island, New York with her husband and daughter. Although she is severely sleep-deprived, she is incredibly happy to be living her dream of writing about people falling in love.

Review & Excerpt: TOO CLOSE TO CALL by Tessa Bailey!

From New York Times bestselling author Tessa Bailey comes TOO CLOSE TO CALL, a novella in her Romancing the Clarksons Series published by 1001 Dark Nights! Grab your copy today!

My Review:  I've said it multiple times now, I love Tessa Bailey. I can't read one of her books (or in this case, novellas), without immediately grabbing one of her other Clarkson's books to reread. This series is my obsession, and I'm proud of it. Too Close To Call is yet another awesome story from my favorite author. After reading Too Hard To Forget, I was kind of hoping Kyler would get his own story. And Yay! It happened.

I love second chance stories, and this book is a perfect example. You can feel the shared history between the two, even in less than 150 pages (estimating). There is such a clear bond between them, and my heart broke for the time they had lost. Sure, you may understand everyone's motives... but that doesn't mean it doesn't still hurt!

If you're looking for a perfect lazy day read, this should be your go-to. It was the highlight of my literary day.. Well, this and the reread of Too Hard To Forget I had to do immediately following.

Cover Lovin': Fits perfectly with the rest of the 1001 Dark Nights series.

Recommendation:  You can read this as a stand-alone, no problem. But do yourself a favor and read the rest of the Clarksons as well!

Final Rating: FOUR out of FIVE stars (4/5)!  A wonderful read, perfect for lovers of second chances, sportsball players, and new adult.

Happy Reading!

Now he’s back in their Indiana hometown, refusing to leave for Los Angeles without her. Demanding she give their life together a shot. Her heart never stopped bleeding for the love of her life, but Bree’s decision was final. EXCERPT:
“Uh...” She gave up pretending to breathe normally, her neck ceasing to support her head. “Ky, please...”
And then she felt it. Tiny bites along the insides of her thighs, branding her through the cotton leggings. Slow, precise, just enough pressure. Commanding her neck to play ball, Bree looked down to find Kyler’s eyelids at half mast, his white teeth sinking in every couple inches, his own chest and stomach shuddering in and out, his nipples in tight points. At the sight, the walls of Bree’s core constricted and released with enough force to send a rattling gasp flying from her mouth.
Kyler.”
“Bree?”
“Just...”
“Yeah.”
His double grip beneath her knees vanished, but before her legs could fall, Kyler was inserting his hips to catch them. One arm snaked around the base of her spine, sliding her forward and out of the machine...and then there she was. Legs wrapped around her ex-boyfriend’s waist, heart pounding, moisture pooled between her thighs, their mouths separated only by a matter of an inch.
“You wore that cologne on purpose,” she breathed. “Admit it.”
His grin flashed. “Guilty as charged and unrepentant as a sinner.”
Her gasp only widened his smile. “Bragging about sinning now, are you, Kyler?”
“You say my name all shaken up and sexy like that when you want me to kiss your pretty mouth.” Hunger made his tone sound like two knives sharpening each other. “I reckon nothing has changed.”

Review: TOO HARD TO FORGET by Tessa Bailey!

Release Date: April 25th, 2017

Type: Contemporary Romance, Second Chance, Series, Book 3, Favorites, Tear-jerker

About the Book: Peggy Clarkson is returning to her alma mater with one goal in mind: confront Elliott Brooks, the man who ruined her for all others, and remind him of what he's been missing. Even after three years, seeing him again is like a punch in the gut, but Peggy's determined to stick to her plan. Maybe then, once she has the upper hand, she'll finally be able to move on.

In the years since Peggy left Cincinnati, Elliott has kept his focus on football. No distractions and no complications. But when Peggy walks back onto his practice field and into his life, he knows she could unravel everything in his carefully controlled world. Because the girl who was hard to forget is now a woman impossible to resist. [Description from Goodreads.com]

My Review: I read this book a month ago. A MONTH. But I'm just now reviewing it. Why? Because that's how emotionally destroyed I was after finishing it. I cried while I was reading it, I had to have some chocolate therapy when I was done, and then I had to take time to just remember how to breathe. I couldn't stop talking about this book, which was really rough considering no one else had read it. I'm so happy that it's finally release month, so this book will get the attention it deserves! I refuse to give anything away, but just.. trust me, this book was something special.

With Too Hard To Forget, Tessa Bailey once again proves that she can break your heart - and then make you thank her when it's all done. This series easily became one of my all-time favorites, and each book just makes it better and better. The characters are so real, the love so heart wrenching, and the story so complex and intricate that I can't help but read it all in one sitting, and then pine for the next one for however long it takes. If you love contemporary romance, this series should be on your wish-list, if not on your favorites shelf!

Cover Lovin': Fits beautifully with the rest of the series.

Recommendation: Technically, you can read Too Hard To Forget as a stand-alone. But read the rest of them, seriously. The sibling dynamic is worth it.

Final Rating: FIVE out of FIVE stars! I couldn't put it down, I cried, and I had to wait a couple weeks to review it because I was that affected.

Make sure to get your copies of all the Romancing The Clarksons series from Amazon.com today!

Happy Reading!

Release Week Blast: TOO HOT TO HANDLE by Tessa Bailey

Title: TOO HOT TO HANDLE
Author: Tessa Bailey
Series: Romancing The Clarksons, #1
On Sale: November 29, 2016
Publisher: Forever
Mass Market: $5.99 USD
eBook: $2.99 USD

Previously released as an eBook in May 2016, the first book in Tessa Bailey’s Romancing the Clarksons series is now available in print for the first time!

When rescue looks like a whole lot of trouble . . .

The road trip was definitely a bad idea. Having already flambéed her culinary career beyond recognition, Rita Clarkson is now stranded in God-Knows-Where, New Mexico, with a busted-ass car and her three temperamental siblings, who she hasn't seen in years. When rescue shows up—six-feet-plus of hot, charming sex on a motorcycle—Rita's pretty certain she's gone from the frying pan right into the fire . . .

Jasper Ellis has a bad boy reputation in this town, and he loathes it. The moment he sees Rita, though, Jasper knows he's about to be sorely tempted. There's something real between them. Something raw. And Jasper has only a few days to show Rita that he isn't just for tonight—he's forever.

EXCERPT

“So.” He plunked his beer down on the bar. “Where were you four headed in that big, rusty Suburban before Hurley reeled you in?”
She looked pensive as her shit-stomping boots started to sway back and forth, bumping the wooden rungs of the stool. “We need to be in Coney Island by New Year’s Day. So we can jump into the Atlantic Ocean.”
“Why—what?” He dropped onto the stool beside her, his drink forgotten on the bar. “That’s pretty high on the list of things I didn’t expect.”
“Oh, I know the feeling.” A beat passed. “It was our mother’s last wish.”
“I’m sorry.”
She nodded, brushing her hair back in a jerky motion, as if she were uncomfortable having someone’s undivided attention. He’d never had cause to use the word preposterous before, but that was the only way he could describe her lack of confidence. Despite the inappropriate name, the Liquor Hole was his life’s work, and, at the moment, it was nothing more than an unworthy backdrop for Rita. And, God, he was staring at her hands like an aggressive palm reader. “Most mothers want to avoid having their children turn into floating ice sculptures. What was her reason?”
“Good question.” A hint of sadness winked in her eyes, and Jasper wished he’d let the subject drop. This was what happened when he avoided talking about sex. He stumbled right into deceased parents. And yet he wasn’t sorry. Not even a little bit. He wanted to know everything. “I think…she meant it as some sort of symbolic bonding experiment. But I don’t know. We’re kind of unbondable.”
“Got the feeling I interrupted a near-melee this afternoon.”
“Aaron called my soufflé decent.” A strand of dark hair caught on her lips when she shook her head. It took one hundred percent of his impulse control not to tug it away, but she beat him to it, anyhow. “It sounds silly now.”
“Nah.” Jasper couldn’t help leaning in to get a whiff of cooking spices. “He would have had it coming just for dressing like a preacher on a weekday.”
Another one of those quiet, smoky laughs. “I guess there’s a fine line between politician and preacher.”
“Politician?” Jasper shivered, then recalled the threat Rita’s brother had leveled at his head back on the highway. “Still, I can’t help but like him for wanting you safe from a stranger. He can’t be all that bad if he worries about you.”
“Worried might be an exaggeration,” Rita said.
When her golden-brown gaze lit on his mouth, Jasper realized he’d moved into her personal space without any conscious thought. One of her knees brushed the denim covering his hip and, God help him, if the bar were empty he would’ve been between her split thighs before she could call for Jesus. For someone who hadn’t felt more than a passing appreciation for the opposite sex in years, his libido was sure trying to play catch-up tonight.
“What are you thinking about?”
Lie. He had to lie. I want to strip you down and fuck you on this seat, but I’m trying my hand at being a gentleman, was not an acceptable line. It was too aggressive when she seemed spooked merely from his close proximity. But she was leaving, leaving his town tomorrow, and the slow-game option had been ambitious for Jasper when he knew nothing about it. So he’d tell the truth while leaving out the oh-so-dirty reality in his pants. “I was thinking it would have been a goddamn shame if you’d broken down one town over.” His voice was gravel, so he cleared it. “More than a shame. I’m kind of finding it hard to think about, if you want to know the truth.”
For long moments, he couldn’t hear a single sound in the loud bar. No music, no crunching ice or raucous laughter. And, somehow, he knew she couldn’t hear the noise, either. It was there in the perplexity of her expression. He expected her to call bullshit or make a joke, but she didn’t. She shocked him instead.
“I’ll think I’ll take that kiss now.”
