My Review: I am going to start with what I didn't like, so I can end this review with a bang - what I did like. I can't help but compare this to the previous book, The Wright Brother, and it just felt like The Wright Boss fell short. So close, but still short. Landon just couldn't compare to Jensen. And that bothers me a little, because I know I would have been all over Landon had I not met his older brother first. I also felt like everything was solved far too quickly in the end. It was too simple and clean.
Now on to what I loved - pretty much everything else. The forbidden romance, the feelings of betrayal, the very sexy hero, and the awesome family dynamic. Another huge plus for me was the friendships in this book - Heidi has a fantastic relationship with her friends Emery and Julia, and I loved seeing that. Too many books forgo giving the main character a friend that is more than just a sidekick.
Cover Lovin': Thumbs up, for sure! And fits well with book one.
Recommendation: I recommend reading book one before this one. It won't work as well as a stand-alone.
Final Rating: THREE POINT FIVE out of FIVE stars (3.5/5)! Most likely, this would ordinarily be a four star read for me, but I keep comparing it to the previous book, and Jensen still has my heart.
Happy Reading!
