About the Book: I don’t believe in destiny.
In fate.
Or in soul mates.
But I believe in Hawke.
My life has never been whole since my parents left forever. I have my brother, someone I can barely tolerate most of the time, and I have my best friend, Marie.
And I have myself.
But when Hawke walks into my life, there’s an immediate connection. Our eyes lock and an unspoken conversation is exchanged. For the first time in my life, I actually feel something.
But he doesn’t.
He keeps me at arm’s length and pretends there’s nothing between us when there clearly is. I’m not the kind of girl to wait around for any guy, so I don’t.
But that doesn’t mean he isn’t in the back of my mind.
Our paths cross again in a way neither one of us expect and it changes everything. Was it destiny that made it happen? Was it fate? Or was it something else? [Description from Goodreads.com]
My Review: I wish I had known going in that this was going to be a cliffhanger - so I'm warning you now. If I had even bothered to look up the description of book two, I would have realized, but alas - I didn't look that far ahead. But lucky for us - all the books in the series are being released AT ONCE. Talk about instant gratification - you can immediately one-click the second book as soon as you finish book one.
Alright, so about the book itself. This book has all the romance tropes that have been overdone time and time again. A guy with a rough past that is only ever interested in one night stands and short flings, until he meets that special girl that makes him want to change. So what I'm saying here, is that "Monday" is far from original. But what it is, is a good read. I devoured this book in one sitting, because I just couldn't stop. I liked their easy camaraderie, I could really feel the connection between the characters. While the attraction is instant, the love isn't - and that's something I definitely respect. Insta-love is fine every so often, but I've seen it way too much lately. I love nothing more than that slow build, and with Frankie and Hawke's friends-to-more relationship, it just felt right.
And while the cliffhanger is rough, I appreciate that not everything was wrapped up in the 250 pages "Monday" has. The story can further develop, and the drama can ebb and flow over time. I'm holding off on purchasing the next book in the series, to try and catch up on everything else - but man, it's rough, believe me.
Cover Lovin': Simple, but eye-catching.
Recommendation: Be prepared to one-click book 2 - what an ending!
Final Rating: THREE POINT FIVE out of FIVE stars! (3.5/5) This would have easily been a four star read, but it felt a little too formulaic for that. But it was definitely a good read, and I can't wait to continue the series.
Get your copy of Monday from Amazon.com today! And be sure to nab book 2 - Tuesday- as well - you'll need it!
Happy Reading!

EXCERPT:
My phone rang and Hawke’s name was on the screen.
I forgot to call him and tell him I’d be late. “Hello?”
“I know you’re late to everything but…a phone call would have been nice.” He was half teasing me, half being serious.
“I’m sorry. I got a flat tire, and I’ve been trying to change it.”
“What?” he barked.
“Dude, this is really hard. I’ve been out here for an hour and a half.”
Instead of laughing, he growled. “Are you kidding me right now?”
Did I miss something? “What?”
“Why didn’t you call me? I can change a tire in two seconds.”
“I thought I could figure it out until…I realized I couldn’t.”
“It’s freezing outside and it’s dark. Are you stupid?”
Now I growled back. “You don’t need to be a dick.”
“I’m going to be a dick when your head is shoved up your ass. Now where are you so I can come and get you?”
“I can change the tire on my own.”
“Clearly.”
“How will I ever learn if you don’t let me figure it out?”
“I could teach you. Did you think of that, smartass?” He was practically screaming at me over the phone.
“If you’re going to throw a hissy fit, I’m going to hang up.”
“You better not—”
Click.
I set my phone down and got back to work.
He called back in two seconds.
I sighed then answered. “What?”
“Tell me where you are.”
“So you can come down here and yell at me?”
“So I can change your tire. Now spit it out.”
“I’m almost done. I can figure it out.”
“You’re really pissing me off,” he snapped. “Tell me where you are or—”
Click.
He called back immediately.
He was such a drama queen. “What?” I yelled.
“HANG UP ON ME AGAIN AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS.”
I rolled my eyes and stayed mute.
“Now tell me where you are before I search the streets.”
I looked around and tried to find a street name. “I’m at Gettysburg Park. I’m right at the curb.”
Now he hung up on me.
