My Review: Kendall Ryan is one of those authors that I discovered through the different review and PR groups I belong to.. and I'm so grateful for it. I hate to think I would have missed out on some awesome books if I hadnt started reviewing her work. And now, I list her as one of my go-to contemporary romance authors when I need a guaranteed, satisfying HEA.
Now, speaking of HEA, my one complaint about The House Mate is the ending. It was a great one, for sure, but I just felt like everything happened too fast. The big climax at the end felt like a lot of lead up, but then a swift conclusion. I would have loved to see that stretched out a bit more. But this is still a great book, and I couldn't put it down. Going back to work after my lunch break was harder than normal today because I didn't want to put this book down.
Cover Lovin': Oh my! Two thumbs up.
Recommendation: Each book in the Roommates series can be read as a stand-alone.
Final Rating: FOUR out of FIVE stars (4/5)! Great read - I wish the ending could have been more of a slow burn - but that doesn't lessen the book's charm.
Disclaimer: I received a copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.

What’s sexier than a bad boy? A bad ass man who’s got his shit together. Max Alexander is nearing thirty-five. He’s built a successful company, and he’s conquered the professional world, but he’s never been lucky in love. Focusing so much time on his business and raising his daughter, adulting has come at the expense of his personal life. His social skills are shit, his patience is shot, and at times, his temper runs hot. The last thing he has time for is the recently single, too gorgeous for her own good young woman he hires to take care of his little girl. She’s a distraction he doesn’t need, and besides, there’s no way she’d be interested. But you know what they say about assumptions? This is book 3 in the Roommates series, but each book can be read as a complete standalone as they all feature new couples to fall in love with.
